TRAVEL & LIVING: 2 DAYS IN KUALA LUMPUR (KL)

Hellos hellos...We just came back from our long awaited KL trip.

Day 1:
The trip started with the flight from Penang International Airport and arrived at LCCT on the scheduled time which is about 8.10 am. Now to go to our hotel which is located at Jalan Petaling, we would have to first go to KL Sentral and then take the LRT to Pasar Seni LRT station. From LCCT, the best way that we have concluded, to go to KL Sentral would be by taking the "KLIA Transit to LCCT" train. The counter to buy the ticket of this train is visible at the arrival terminal of LCCT. The ticket cost about RM12.50 for one-way trip and if you get the ticket for return trip as well, it would be cheaper which is only about RM22.

The schedule for this transit train is easily available from this link : KLIA Transit to LCCT Schedule

After buying the ticket from the counter, we preceded to outside of LCCT where a purple bus (PLUSLINER) displaying the KLIA transit icon is seen parking. Enter the bus and thus we are headed towards the Salak Tinggi Station. Wait for the train which will arrive on schedule and then board and sit still inside until it reaches KL Sentral.

The Salak Tinggi Station
As we were both quite tight on the budget of this trip, we decided to save on our accommodation. This means no fancy or luxury hotels room and also no breathtaking view of the KL city. We settled on a hotel named "Dragon Inn Premium Hotel". The location of this hotel is convenient yet I would say not so safe. It is located just beside Jalan Petaling which implies that there is plenty of food to find when we are hungry but Jalan Petaling also simply means that it is near to Puduraya and this also says not so safe. Back to the story of the hotel, YES it is a very simple hotel with extremely cheap price. So expect the hotel to look just as you have paid. The hotel came with complimentary breakfast set. Well talking about the breakfast, some rather upsetting incident happen between us and the staff from the front desk of the hotel during Day 2. I would rather not detail on the incident but there is also something else to take note which is that the breakfast is not free after all (something the staff did not tell us properly). Probably due to the increase in price of the sugar and bla bla bla, we had to pay extra for the roti canai and teh tarik that were offered in the complimentary breakfast. *Sigh* just a few bucks.. let it be let it be but we weren't too happy with the unclear information given by the staff.

Anyway, end of story about the hotel. Next up, we have our lunch!!!! Not to be missed is of course the ever so famous KIM LIAN KEE (金莲记)Hokkien Char (or better known as Tai Lok Mee for us in Penang).

As for dessert, we have the Tau Fu Fah which is just outside Kim Lian Kee.

Tau Fu Fah - RM1.50
We started our day in KL with the Aquarium at KLCC. Wheeee...we are both such naturalist. haha.. Anyways, going to the KLCC aquarium require quite some walk from the Suria KLCC. The pictures will do all the talking next. The admission ticket for this KLCC aquarium was RM28 thru Groupon.

The piranha

After the aqurium trip, we headed back to Jalan Petaling and we had our dinner which is one of the best food tasted throughout the whole trip which is the Claypot Loh Shu Fun at . Sadly, no picture was taken for this dinner. So just drool over it with word but mental note was taken that I should drop by if I am ever visiting Jalan Petaling again at night. The Claypot Loh Shu Fun cost us about RM9.00.

 DAY 2:
Day 2 is all about walking and walking and walking. We hang out around Bukit Bintang area for the whole of second day. Started by taking the GO-KL Free Shuttle which moves around the Bukit Bintang area and the KLCC area. Route of the free shuttle is available in this link : GO-KL Free Shuttle. To take the shuttle, we walked to the Pasar Seni LRT station again.

As the time of this trip is still around CNY, all the malls still retained their CNY decoration and we managed to capture a handful of them before they were changed to Valentines which is just then next day.

Starting by Pavilion. They have lots of decoration but seems like it is too much that it seems messy but it is still the best as compared to the others.

We stayed around Pavilion for quite sometimes and decided to have our lunch with my all-time favourite JAPANESE food. We walked around Tokyo street and finally landed ourselves in INCHI ZEN due to the promotional set meal where we could top up sashimi for only RM 10. YUMS YUMS...

After Pavilion, we headed towards Fahrenheit 88 which comprised of decoration about the 12 chinese zodiac.

After Fahrenheit 88, we stopped by at Tous Les Jours, the Korean based French bakery which is endorsed by Won Bin and Kim Soo Hyun in Korea. The bakery is really fancy. The woody and bricky-ish interior gives the patrons the feel of french-styled romantic ambient. The contrast of sitting inside the shop while overlooking the busy shopping district Bukit Bintang  is something worth exploring.

We continued on our tour around Bukit Bintang area with Lot 10, Lowyat Plaza and Bukit Bintang Plaza.... During the night, we decided to go back KLCC and walk around which we didn't do much during our first day there. To complete the night, the view of the Twin Tower is definitely a must. I was rather surprised to see so many tourist around the park just to take pictures with the Twin Tower. Now this makes me feels like a tourist but not for the first time in KL.

Adios for the night..

Movie: About Time

"Live life as if there were no second chance"
About Time (Picture Courtesy of LS Media)
ABOUT TIME staring Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams tells the story about a man who is a time traveller. With this ability, he is able to change his life all as he wants. Well, that was his intention initially until when he realized that his time travelling ability would change the fate of his future son/daughter, everything changes. He no longer utilize his ability according to his own needs. The chemistry between both the actors is one of the reason why this movie is worth watching. The message behind this movie is nevertheless to teach us how to cherish time while we still can. Simple as that.

The scene when Tim meets Mary, when they finally got together and start making out, the meet-the-parents scene, subway to and fro as well as the wedding scene is so enjoyable. Not to forget, Margot Robbie is so hot. haha... Now, that is not important but still try this movie if you can. Oh yeah, the soundtrack is not bad too..

Rating: 4.3/5.0

Misc: The Absent

Hello there, I know I have been absent for a very long period of time. There is so much to keep up in our life for the past few months. One semester flew away again. Now, we are patiently awaiting for the next semester to start again while working on Final Year Project (FYP). Yep, you heard it right, this would be our final year! After all the struts and frets for the past three and a half years, we are finally gonna graduate and become a real engineer. A Graduate Engineer. That is something truly worth anticipating.

It is January 2014 now. At the end of this month, we will be celebrating the ever so joyous Chinese New Year festival. After that, both the sentinels would be up for a short KL trip which we have been missing out for quite sometimes. I am working on the schedule of the trip with full effort! Muahahaha... The oomph for the trip is over-flowing now.

Then, the semester break would be over and a new and final semester will roll on again. In between, we would be flying to the East Malaysia, SABAH. Full itinerary of the trip has not been planned out yet but hmm hmm it would be out soon I hope. Then, we will wrap up our FYP and also our final year studies and then with our first job. That's almost it for the first half of the year 2014. What is gonna happen for the other half of the year? We are yet to find out. =)

I am making a promise here to be more hardworking in updating this blog with more posts. Definitely need to keep track and post all the details of the KL trip and Sabah trip and then, I am also hoping to start up a new section named, "The Wonders of Rice Cooker". This section would jot down all the recipes that I have been working on with my mini cutie little rice cooker that had accompanied me long enough for the past three years. So, do stay tune.
